A high-end residential interior design firm is seeking an experienced Senior Residential Interior Designer / Project Manager to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional experience in residential interior design, with demonstrated experience independently managing high-end residential projects. This individual should have a strong and distinct design sensibility, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to confidently lead multiple projects from initial concept through final installation.
We are looking for a highly self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can balance creative design responsibilities with strong project management and client-facing skills.
The ideal candidate will:
- Lead and manage projects independently from concept and design development through procurement and installation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project
- Present design concepts, furniture, materials, finishes, and other selections to clients clearly and confidently
- Manage client expectations and obtain approvals throughout each phase of the project
- Design, draw, and oversee the production of custom furniture, millwork, lighting, and other bespoke elements
- Mentor and oversee junior designers, delegate tasks, and review design work
- Coordinate effectively with architects, contractors, builders, engineers, fabricators, vendors, and other consultants
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
Responsibilities
Design & Client Management
- Develop and execute cohesive design concepts appropriate to each project and client
- Prepare for and attend client presentations, project meetings, and site meetings
- Create furniture plans, layouts, elevations, and drawings for custom furniture, millwork, and lighting
- Source furniture, fabrics, materials, finishes, lighting, accessories, and other items that support the overall design aesthetic
- Prepare and present design recommendations and selections to clients
- Manage client approvals and maintain clear communication throughout the project
Project Management
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and ensure deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
- Identify potential delays, issues, or conflicts and proactively develop solutions
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, builders, engineers, and other project consultants
- Oversee vendors, trades, deliveries, and installations
- Manage projects through final installation and completion
Procurement & Purchasing
- Generate and manage purchase orders, invoices, and procurement documentation
- Place orders and follow up with vendors throughout the purchasing process
- Obtain and review vendor quotes and negotiate pricing when appropriate
- Monitor product availability, lead times, production schedules, and order status
- Track shipments, deliveries, and receiving
- Coordinate delivery and installation schedules with vendors and project teams
- Review and track project purchasing and profitability
- Ensure procurement records and project documentation remain accurate and up to date
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in residential interior design, including experience independently managing projects
- Strong knowledge of the high-end residential design process from concept through installation
- Proven project management and organizational skills
- Strong design sensibility with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to confidently communicate with clients, vendors, contractors, and consultants
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
