American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week acute care rehabilitation assignment, open to first-time travelers with at least 2 years of experience.

Inpatient acute care setting within a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center
-
Treats trauma, orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, post-op, ICU, MedSurg, and ED patients
-
ED patients are treated similarly to med-surg patients, with initial evaluations followed by continued treatment
-
Patient ratio of 10-12 per therapist, approximately 15 units per day
-
May float to any area of the hospital including trauma, orthopedics, neuro, MedSurg, ICU, or ED
-
Uses Cerner/Powerchart EMR system
-
Schedule is 8:00AM-4:30PM, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
-
Weekend rotation required once per month
-
No on-call requirements

Current BLS certification required

MSPT or DPT required

Acute care experience required

Minimum 1 year of experience required for travelers; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience

Must be adaptable, coachable, and a strong team player

License required if applicable

Responsibilities include patient evaluations and treatments across multiple hospital units, with a focus on acute care rehabilitation

Rehab Aides provide 1:1 support during the first 1-2 weeks of orientation, then are shared among clinical staff
-
3-day department orientation provided
-
Team includes CNAs, Rehab Aides, and clinical support staff who communicate via group messaging app for assistance
-
May be asked to assist with coverage during Thanksgiving or Christmas; other holidays are staffed as normal working days

Scrub color requirement: navy blue or dark green

Facility does not require COVID vaccination

Does not accept local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility

Returning perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
