We are currently seeking an outgoing, creative, and dedicated seasoned Lead Preschool Teacher to join our Department of Education preschool program (formerly known as Abbott). Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Use of the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students
- Establish a classroom environment that aligns with Creative Curriculum and ECERS
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, studies, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students and families
- Comfortable using technology for online student assessment, communication, research, teaching, etc.
- Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials
- Establish and maintain cooperative and strong relationships with parents, students, staff and community stakeholders
- Communicate effectively using the English language (bilingual/multilingual is a plus)
- Greet children and families pleasantly and appropriately, ensuring a smooth transition into the classroom, a positive home-school connection and a family partnership
- Encourage parents to become involved in workshops, trainings and school activities
- Maintain compliance with policies and procedures
- Attend staff and parent meetings
- Conduct parent teacher conferences
- CPR and first aid certification maintained and renewed as needed
- Show professional and enthusiasm for teaching
- Identify and report child abuse/neglect
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- B.A Degree or at least 120 college credits in Early Childhood Education or equivalency
- NJ P-3 Certification (Required)
Experience Requirements:
- Professional experience of working with children ages 3 - 5 yr old
Preferred:
- Bilingual/multilingual with fluency
Employment will be contingent upon satisfactory receipt of:
- CHRI (Criminal History Record- fingerprint)
- CARI (Child Abuse Record - background check)
Will need to have:
- Current state approved CPR and first aid
- Current health physical
- Current TB test by the Mantoux method
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
