Flats & Bay Boat Manufacturing / Marine Service Company
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented person to join our team in an assistant office manager. Our company builds flats and bay boats and also performs service work on all types of inboard and outboard boats. This position will work mainly in the parts/accessories retail and office area, supporting customers, service jobs, parts ordering, shipping, inventory, and day-to-day administrative tasks.
This is not a traditional accounting/bookkeeping position, but the role does include basic payment handling, credit card reconciliation, and general office support.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $18–$25 per hour, based on skills and experience
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Greet customers and answer incoming phone calls
- Assist customers with parts and accessories purchases
- Handle customer payments, including cash, checks, and credit cards
- Order parts and assist with inventory tracking
- Update service work tickets for customer jobs
- Prepare shipping labels and package items for shipment
- Assist with data entry and general administrative tasks
- Reconcile credit card and bank statements
- Assist with payroll-related data entry or reporting
- Prepare title work and coordinate with tag agencies to transfer or secure proper tags on new and used boats
- Help keep the office, parts, and customer service areas organized
- Communicate with customers, vendors, service staff, and management as needed
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good attention to detail and follow-through
- Basic computer skills
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to learn internal systems and processes
- Ability to stay organized while handling several tasks during the day
- Experience with Sage is helpful but not required
- Marine, parts, service, retail, or dealership experience is a plus but not required
Work Environment
This role is a mix of customer service, parts support, and administrative work. The right person should be comfortable working with customers in person and by phone, helping with parts/accessories, and keeping service-related paperwork and tasks moving smoothly.
