SUMMARY: Set up and operate form, fill and seal packaging equipment. Assure that packages are produced to the highest quality according to specification and schedule. Meet or exceed daily production goals. Promptly notify management of non-standard product, inventory shortages, maintenance problems, and potential problems in schedule completion.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read, understand, and follow product specification sheets and production schedules
- Set up and operate packaging machines according to specification
- Locate and stage film, cartons, and labels according to specification
- Coordinate with mixer to have correct edible products in a timely manner according to schedule
- Apply appropriate label and/or appropriate printing to bag according to specification
- Assemble appropriate cartons per specification
- Inspect packages for proper edible product, film, seal integrity, fill weight, labeling, and printing
- Package bags into cartons and label and/or print on cartons according to specification
- Verify bag weight of finished product according to specification
- Return unused packaging materials to assigned location in inventory and cover with plastic
- Promptly notify management of exceptions to standard
- Promptly notify maintenance and management of machine problems
- Accurately complete daily production reports according to guidelines
- Promptly report to management for work assignments during machine down times
- Keep assigned work area and equipment clean
- Direct and train assigned personnel
- Understand and follow quality sign-off procedures
- Understand and follow all safety procedures
- Understand and follow all food safety and food quality issues and proper documentation whenever necessary
- Thorough understanding of how to properly clean and sanitize all production equipment
- Know and follow all GMPs
- Obtain all proper QA and QC checks and sign offs required before starting production
· Perform any and all additional duties as required by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good knowledge of Retail product line
- Good reading and math comprehension
- Strong mechanical, electrical and pneumatic abilities. Must be capable of handling all non-major maintenance tasks
- Strong understanding of the metric system
- Capable of changing rolls of film weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. continually throughout the day
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
- Operate machines at optimal speed levels
- Ability to train others

Monday - Thursday 11:53PM - 7:00AM
Friday 11:53PM - Saturday 9:45AM
