Job Title: School Lunch Aide
Hours: Part Time: Monday – Friday, 11:30am – 1pm
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: We are seeking a School Lunch Aide to join our team immediately. The Aide will be responsible for overseeing the children during lunchtime in the Montessori classroom and outside on the playground. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee lunchtime in accordance with Montessori principles, read to the children, facilitate their activities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of students at all times, both indoors and outdoors on the playground
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective program
Requirements:
- High School diploma required, Montessori experience a plus, Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Experience working with children in a classroom or daycare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for working with children and making a positive impact on their lives
- Child care clearances, including Child Abuse, Fingerprinting report, Criminal Background check, and CPR/First Aid certification required
- Three professional references
Physical Demands:
- Audible voice and adequate hearing and vision are required in order to supervise the students
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods of time, including bending, stooping and crouching to interact with young children
- Ability to lift a small child, up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:
- Work is primarily indoors in a classroom setting or outside at our playground
- May be required to attend special events or programs
- May be exposed to noise and distractions from children and other staff members
