Duties
- Assist with menu planning to meet dietary needs and preferences, ensuring balanced and appealing meal options
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals following established recipes and food safety guidelines
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Support the dietary department by organizing ingredients, setting up food stations, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Contribute to meal presentation by garnishing dishes and ensuring portion control for consistency
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service experiences in a timely manner
- Participate in catering events or special meal occasions as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork
Experience
- Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience preferred, with familiarity in meal preparation and food service operations
- Experience working in a restaurant or food industry setting is highly desirable, especially with kitchen tasks such as cooking and food handling
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
- Culinary experience including knife skills, cooking techniques, and menu planning is advantageous
- Background in catering or serving roles that require attention to detail and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining high quality standards
- Prior kitchen experience or restaurant work that demonstrates proficiency in meal preparation and food industry practices
