Early Head Start Assistant Teacher
Our early childhood center is looking for an individual who will provide a nurturing and safe environment for infants and toddlers to develop and reach age appropriate milestones in our Early Head Start program. This is a mixed age infant/toddler classroom with a small class size, giving you the chance to build real relationships with each child. This is a great place to start or grow in the Early Childhood Education field.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide a safe and loving environment for infants and toddlers in your care
- Verbally engage children throughout the day in addition to incorporating age appropriate play activities
- Support daily routines including feeding, diapering, and rest schedules in line with Early Head Start guidelines
- Partner with the Lead Teacher to plan and carry out developmentally appropriate activities
- Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining required Early Head Start documentation and observations
- Follow all state guidelines and Head Start Performance Standards for the care of infants and toddlers
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma/GED required (Degree preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Compassionate attitude and a strong understanding of child development
- Nurturing teaching approach
- Dependable and reliable attendance
- Experience with infants and toddlers
- Willingness to pursue a CDA, we will cover the full cost
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
