SWA is hiring a Wastewater Operator in Santa Fe, NM!
Pay Up To: $35.08/Hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Consideration Requirements:
- Must pass a background check, drug test, and a DMV driving record check
- High school diploma or GED
- NEW MEXICO LEVEL III CERTIFICATION IN WATER - REQUIRED
- Minimum of three years’ experience in water operations
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of water treatment plant operations; operating principles of valves, pumps, and motors; principles and methods of water analyses and arsenic removal and sewage analyses
- Four years’ experience in operating water treatment plants
- College level experience
- Knowledge of principles of supervision and training
- A working knowledge of instrumentation and controls, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
- Knowledge of computer software including development of spreadsheets and word processing documents and entering information to data management systems
Daily Duties:
- Operates, maintains, and performs minor repairs on water treatment and/or distribution system
- Installs operates and repairs water distribution and collection systems including mains, service lines, fire hydrants, water valves, PRV’s and water meters
- Reads and monitors gauges, meters, and control panels
- Starts and stops equipment, and operates valves to route and control flow
- Makes process control adjustments, determines, and sets proper chemical dosage and flow rates
- Operation of instrumentation and controls, and SCADA
- Diagnoses operating problems and performs necessary corrective action during work shift
- Inspects equipment, oversees maintenance and initiates needed repairs
- Complies and reports non-compliance with OMI and Project Policies and Procedures
- Makes operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel
- Prepares required reports and maintains complete record keeping procedures
- Participate in, and assist with, the training of Operators
- Conducts meetings and training sessions pertaining to safety, process control, etc.
- Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
- Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses
- Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
- Works safely and adheres to established safety procedures
- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner
- Understands and carries out oral and written directions
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during work
- Performs other duties as required
