Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment efficiently to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
- Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Support the culinary team with meal preparation activities, adhering strictly to recipes and menu guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, ovens, mixers, and other appliances essential for food production.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and dining spaces through regular cleaning routines.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep activities and ensure timely service delivery.
- Follow all food safety protocols related to food handling, storage, and sanitation to uphold health standards.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating knowledge of kitchen operations.
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and recipe adherence.
- Strong understanding of safety standards in food production and food safety management practices.
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff.
- Basic culinary skills including knife handling, slicing techniques, and food industry knowledge.
- Previous catering or serving experience is a plus but not required.
