Job Description
Wolverine Plastics is seeking a reliable, hardworking Maintenance Assistant to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced injection and blow molding manufacturing facility. This position assists with machine setup, preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, and troubleshooting to keep production running safely and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who wants to build a career in industrial maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and changeover of injection and blow molding machines.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment under the guidance of maintenance personnel.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production machinery and support equipment.
- Assist with mold changes and equipment adjustments.
- Respond to machine breakdowns and production support requests.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
- Complete maintenance work orders and documentation accurately.
- Perform general plant maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience in injection molding, blow molding, plastics manufacturing, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely work around industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.
