Responsibilities
As an Employment Law Paralegal, you will:
- Manage plaintiff-side employment litigation matters from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and legal correspondence
- Prepare and organize trial exhibits, deposition summaries, and mediation materials
- Coordinate document production and discovery
- Review personnel files, payroll records, and employment documents
- Assist with wage and hour damages calculations
- Prepare filings in California state and federal courts
- Schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and expert witnesses
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status
- Support attorneys during all phases of litigation, including trial preparation
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of Employment Law Paralegal experience
- Experience handling California employment litigation
- Knowledge of:
- California Labor Code
- FEHA
- PAGA
- Wage & Hour Litigation
- Wrongful Termination
- Workplace Discrimination
- Harassment
- Retaliation
- Strong litigation, organizational, and case management skills
- Experience with electronic court filings in California
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
