Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dietary Cook to join our team. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to our patients/residents. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the well-being of individuals in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to specific dietary requirements and recipes
- Ensure that all meals are prepared in a timely manner
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus and ensure variety and nutritional balance
- Assist with meal service, including portioning and plating
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Follow proper procedures for storing food items
- Assist with training and supervising dietary aides
Requirements:
- Previous experience in food handling and meal preparation, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong time management skills to ensure efficient meal preparation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients/residents, staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
