Summary:
As a Mechanical Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Quality operations, including but not limited to identifying the root causes of problems and instituting corrective actions. They also proactively recommend solutions that will improve product durability and overall performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
· Comply with standard Corporate Quality policies and procedures
· Develop and implement quality standards as part of PENCOM’s Quality Management System (QMS)
· Lead problem-solving cross functional teams; use of Quality Assurance methodologies to manage and facilitate issues resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions
· Support the development of PPAP’s and review of PPAP’s from suppliers
· Lead and facilitate the review and disposition of discrepant parts identified from DMR’s and Non-Conformances
· Review of First Article Inspection reports, both internally and externally
· Able to use Minitab for statistical analysis (Gauge R&R, capability analysis and SPC)
· Review current blueprints and quality documentation
· Conduct training of QA concepts and tools as needed
· Set and track quality assurance goals (e.g., reduce average turnaround time for quality checks by 20%)
· Coordinate with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance
· Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products

· No supervisory responsibilities associated with this position
Skills/Knowledge Required:
· Previous work experience as a Mechanical Quality Engineer or similar role
· Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
· In-depth understanding of technical documentation, blueprint reading and GD&T
· Previous experience with PPAP, PFMEA, APQP, Control Plans
· Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills (team spirit – interact and collaborate with various departments, customers, and all levels of employees)
· Good analytical skills
· Excellent project management skills
· Excellent communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills
· Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Salary Range: $90,000-$95,000 annually
Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
