Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Assist with intake procedures by collecting patient information, updating medical histories, and reviewing documentation for completeness.
- Support medical billing processes by understanding CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, and Medicare requirements to ensure proper documentation review and submission.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies to keep the front desk organized and efficient.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all interactions and documentation review.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to support care plans and coordinate patient flow within the clinic setting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinic or healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and Medicare guidelines is highly desirable.
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with experience managing medical records, filing systems, and office management tasks.
