Responsive ID Solutions is a patient-focused medical office dedicated to providing compassionate care and efficient service. We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Receptionist to join our front office team.

Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk & Patient Support
- Greet and check in patients and visitors professionally and courteously.
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information in the EHR system.
- Collect and process co-pays, prior balances, and daily transactions.
- Issue and explain patient statements and review outstanding balances.
- Schedule, cancel, and confirm appointments according to provider guidelines.
- Assist with patient check-out and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Answer incoming calls, messages, and emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Medical Records & Administration
- Coordinate medical record requests with insurance companies, providers, and attorneys.
- Scan, upload, and organize patient documents and records accurately.
Insurance Verification & Authorizations (Specialized Duties)
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, focusing on HMO plans.
- Obtain prior authorizations and referrals for medical procedures, treatments, and medications.
- Communicate with insurance companies to track status of authorizations.
- Document authorization requests, approvals, and denials.
- Monitor and follow up on pending authorizations to prevent care delays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Proficiency with EHR systems, scheduling software, and insurance portals (e.g., Availity)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare insurance processes, especially HMO requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Friendly and professional customer service skills
- High attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Reliable transportation and regular attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish or other language)
- Certification in medical office administration or related field
- Experience with medical billing and/or coding
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
- Frequent keyboarding and data entry
- Ability to respond to medical emergencies according to office protocol
- Must be able to work in a busy, high-volume environment
