Maintenance Technician Needed
The Wyndham Garden Ann Arbor and Hampton Inn and Suites West is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team.
Idealy looking for someone that can work Saturday and Sunday and Wyndham and Hampton three days a week. Both properties share the same parking lot so there is no extra travel.
Located in Ann Arbor, the Wyndham Garden features 161 guest rooms, just over 10,000 square feet of meeting space, and our on-site restaurant, Palms Cafe.
Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the hotel facility, including guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, kitchen/restaurant, and heart-of-the-house areas. This role plays a key part in delivering outstanding guest service through timely and effective maintenance support.Key Responsibilities
- Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and equipment.
- Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including (but not limited to) carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC, and masonry.
- Handle trash removal and general clean-up.
- Perform landscaping duties.
- Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all tools and chemicals.
- Record and report completed repairs and items requiring further attention to the Head Engineer.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by guests or management.
Note: Weekends, holidays, and evenings are mandatory.Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Hotel or customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Strong ability to defuse difficult situations, exercise patience, tact, and diplomacy when needed.
- Exceptional service orientation and the ability to build effective relationships with staff, management, and guests.
- Strong command of the English language (both written and verbal).
- Required Experience: Minimum 1 year of Maintenance Technician experience.
