Ballyhoo Hospitality is seeking a talented Pastry Assistant to join our team at Buck Russell’s Bakery in Willamette.

Job Summary:
The Pastry Cook supports our Pastry Chef in decorating cakes and cookies, baking and ice cream production. Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and have passion for creativity in baking and ice cream production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and bake pastries according to recipes and Executive Chef and Culinary Directors.

Prepare different types of ice cream flavors following Pastry Chef’s recipe and SOP’s.

Assist in organizing and cleaning pastry preparation and pantry areas.

Assists with the preparation of pastries and ice cream for wholesale and store level.

Ensures all pastry preparation and presentation is to established specifications.

Maintain consistency of product with great attention to quality, taste and presentation.

Maintain positive working relations with all other departments.

Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Must understand basic yeast dough such as breads, laminated dough such as croissants and puff pastry.

Knowledge of bakery products, production baking experience, and customer service experience preferred.

Previous experience in Ice Cream production is preferred.

Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

Ability to remain calm during high volume service or difficult situations.

Ability to communicate and understand english language

Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Maintain ServeSafe Food Handlers certification
- At least 21 years of age.

High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

Culinary degree preferred.

A minimum of 2 years of pastry production experience.
