Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving, to deliver freight efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will ensure the smooth flow of goods while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, across long-distance routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured correctly for transportation.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain schedule integrity.
- Transport a variety of cargo types such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments with precision and care.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading, manifests, and logs in compliance with logistics cargo handling standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during routes.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, with a focus on route driving and delivery driving in various environments.
- Demonstrated ability to handle different types of freight such as refrigerated cargo, hazardous materials (Hazmat), flatbed loads, or tankers.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck loading/unloading and manual handling.
- Valid CDL A license with relevant endorsements for Hazmat or tanker transportation preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience operating trucks with manual transmission preferred; however, training can be provided for qualified candidates.
