Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive and creative lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating instructional design principles and learning technology tools.
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction across various grade levels, including high school and middle school, with a focus on social sciences, literacy education, and language arts.
- Apply AP style guidelines and the Chicago Manual of Style to ensure clarity, consistency, and professionalism in student writing assignments.
- Conduct copy editing, proofreading, and editing of student work to enhance writing skills and promote academic excellence.
- Mentor students by providing personalized academic advising, supporting their learning styles adaptability, and managing classroom behavior effectively.
- Implement IT-integrated lessons that incorporate digital resources, standardized testing preparation, and educational compliance regulations.
- Facilitate research projects, library services utilization, and tutoring sessions to reinforce learning objectives and foster independent study skills.
Experience
- Proven classroom management experience with teenagers in high school or middle school settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development for social sciences or language arts courses.
- Experience working with diverse learners, including those requiring special education accommodations or Montessori-based approaches.
- Strong background in teaching social sciences, literacy education, or related fields within private or public school environments.
- Familiarity with educational regulations, standardized testing protocols, instructional design methodologies, and learning technology platforms.
- Prior experience in higher education teaching or academic advising is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent communication skills combined with organizational abilities to manage lesson planning, classroom activities, and educational administration effectively.
