Job Title: Greenhouse Technician

Job Description
We are seeking a Greenhouse Technician to join our team within the Controlled Environments group. The ideal candidate will have experience in greenhouse operations, plant care, and research support and a proven ability to execute routine horticultural tasks with accuracy, maintain detailed records, and uphold safety and compliance standards.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Rotational weekend work approximately every 6th weekend and holiday work required
Responsibilities:
- Support controlled-environment wheat pollination as part of a dedicated crew.
- Perform daily plant care, including seeding, pollinating, transplanting, watering, harvesting, and seed handling for wheat and other crops.
- Collect and prepare plant tissue samples for laboratory analysis while maintaining sample integrity at scale.
- Assist with research experiments, data collection, and record-keeping in compliance with protocols.
- Maintain greenhouse sanitation, including proper disposal of regulated material and waste.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn internal research software.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand or sit for extended periods, and lift at least 30 lbs.
- Comfort working in warm, humid greenhouse conditions with year-round pollen exposure and with common chemicals while following safety guidelines.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant sciences, or a related field.
- Two or more years of relevant greenhouse or plant research experience.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
