Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
ASSISTANT MANAGER
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Assistant Manager position in Marketing/Sales Management exists in order to oversee and supervise the performance of the Business Divisions including Sales, Marketing, Distribution, and other business operations, as well as to guide each Business Division to improve their performance in the most efficient and effective manner by reducing costs and maximizing Company profit. This position also reviews sales contracts, assesses the business operation performance, produces various management reports for top management decision making, and substantially implements multiple value-added projects to ensure better corporate-wide management and to maximize Company profits. This position also acts as a major coordinator among Business Divisions and Service Departments and between FPCUSA and FPC Taiwan by providing effective communication and by preparing various management reports for Top Management to review for decision making. This position benefits the Company by applying strategic planning, by optimally allocating human resources, and by building collaboration between internal functions and cross-functions while attaining department objectives and following Company policies.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
1. Provide leadership and direction to the Sales/Marketing Management ( PO/OL) team by establishing departmental priorities, managing resources, developing employees, and making recommendations regarding hiring, performance management, promotions, and other personnel actions to build a high-performing organization.
2. Provide strategic oversight of commercial and profitability management by directing the evaluation of sales contracts, pricing strategies, and special pricing requests, exercising independent judgment to optimize profitability and support sound business decisions.
3. Lead the development and continuous improvement of corporate marketing and sales management processes by overseeing the implementation of enterprise-wide systems and procedures, evaluating business needs, and recommending process enhancements that improve operational efficiency and organizational effectiveness.
4. Direct production and sales planning activities by providing strategic oversight of production planning, inventory management, internal transfer pricing, profit forecasting, and financial performance analysis to maximize profitability and support the Company's business objectives.
5. Evaluate production capacity, operating conditions, and raw material availability to develop and recommend production, allocation, and supply strategies that optimize asset utilization, maintain business continuity, and improve overall financial performance.
6. Lead the development and evaluation of the Company's Annual Income Projection by directing financial analysis, identifying business risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations that support executive decision-making, financing activities, and long-term strategic planning.
7. Lead cross-functional coordination and business integration between FPCUSA Business Divisions, service departments, and Taiwan affiliates to resolve complex operational issues, align business strategies, and improve enterprise-wide operational and financial performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous Related Experience Required
- 5+ years working experience in the chemical.plastics industry
Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles and operation/manufacturing processes related to the assigned area of responsibility.
- Ability to analyze technical problems, identify root causes, and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Proficiency in engineering calculations, data analysis, and technical report preparation.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and technical documentation.
- Experience with engineering software, ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other technical analysis tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage multiple technical assignments and meet project deadlines.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Master preferred)
