Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Security Technician to install, maintain, and service CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems, and related low-voltage security equipment in both commercial and educational environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in businesses, schools, and other institutional facilities, possess strong troubleshooting skills, and be committed to delivering high-quality, reliable security solutions that meet each client's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and service commercial CCTV systems (IP and analog cameras, NVRs/DVRs).
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot access control systems including card readers, controllers, door hardware, and software platforms.
- Run, terminate, and label low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, fiber, and security wire).
- Perform system diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on existing security systems.
- Integrate systems with networks, including basic IP addressing and network configuration.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system drawings.
- Ensure all installations meet company standards, local codes, and customer requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service during installations and service calls.
- Train clients on system operation when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all work performed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in commercial security systems (CCTV, access control, or related field).
- Strong knowledge of IP-based video surveillance systems and access control platforms.
- Experience with major brands (e.g., Hikvision, Avigilon, Axis, Honeywell, Lenel, Genetec, etc.) preferred.
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, routers, switches).
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders or lifts.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ESA, BICSI, manufacturer certifications) are a plus.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
