Fox Contractors Corp. is an Indiana-based earthmoving and underground utility contractor. We specialize in heavy highway, public works, commercial and industrial site development. This includes work for DOT’s, municipalities, general contractors, developers, healthcare, education and environmental projects.
We are seeking an experienced estimator with demonstrated ability to estimate a broad range of projects. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to accurately and competitively estimate jobs using estimating tools and experience of industry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Estimate to include scope of work, general conditions, self-perform takeoffs, sub-contractor proposals for client
- Determine percentage of profit and review with Estimating Manager
- Reviews proposal specifications and drawings
- Develops potential list of subcontractors and solicits estimates
- Handle subcontractor and vendor disputes as applicable to the scope versus proposal issues
- Clearly and timely communicate scopes of work to Project Manager by preparing comprehensive estimate breakdowns
- Job site visits with clients and subcontractors
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree from four year college or university in Construction Management or related field, preferred
- Minimum of five to ten years proven experience as a Senior Estimator
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and techniques
- Proficiency in using construction estimating software such as HeavyBid
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
