What You'll Do
This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual passionate about supporting senior-level recruiting and committed to excellence.
The MDP People Team Assistant supports the NAMR MDP People Team across all BCG Practice Areas, supporting several active recruiting initiatives — ranging from early-stage mapping to late-stage offer. The pace is dynamic, with concentrated bursts of intensity around key moments such as interviews and offers. While much of the work happens behind the scenes, you’re invited into the conversations and processes that drive some of the firm’s most important hiring decisions. For the right person, it’s an outstanding opportunity to build a strong foundation in HR operations and develop the skills, relationships, and judgment that come from working at the highest levels of the organization. Success here requires strong organizational instincts, the ability to context-switch across multiple priorities, and the discretion to operate in a highly confidential environment.
YOU'RE GOOD AT:
-
SCHEDULING & RESCHEDULING: Owning end-to-end scheduling and rescheduling for candidate interviews and search firm calls, including day-prior reconfirmation of attendance across all stakeholder groups.
-
LOGISTICAL OVERSIGHT: Managing virtual and in-person interview logistics to ensure a seamless, professional experience for candidates and interviewers alike.
-
DATA TRACKING: Maintaining accurate, up-to-date candidate data across all team tools — from first profile receipt through offer — including intake validation, prior process history checks, and policy compliance screening.
-
CANDIDATE VETTING & REFERENCING: Supporting the internal referencing process by coordinating outreach to relevant internal stakeholders to gather candidate insights that inform hiring decisions.
-
NOTETAKING: Capturing detailed notes during search firm and internal calls and ensuring key information is reflected accurately across candidate profiles and team tools.
-
FEEDBACK COLLECTION: Gathering and organizing interviewer feedback with discernment to keep the process moving and decision-makers informed.
-
DOCUMENT DRAFTING: Preparing initial drafts of candidate-facing and internal documents — such as business cases and offer request emails — using known inputs, ready for line manager review.
-
PRESENTATION MANAGEMENT: Maintaining recruitment slides and supporting recurring team meeting coordination, including agenda preparation for standing calls.
-
CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE: Coordinating candidate gifts at offer extension and offer acceptance, and managing post-process experience surveys.
-
PROGRAM SUPPORT: Providing administrative and operational support for adjacent HR Ops programs and initiatives beyond core recruiting.
-
SPECIAL PROJECTS: Taking on ad hoc team projects that require resourcefulness, sound judgment, and creative problem-solving.
Please note that this position is not restricted solely to the responsibilities listed above and that the job scope and tasks are subject to change.
What You'll Bring
-
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in a fast-paced recruiting, HR, or client-service environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
-
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote); experience with Eightfold, iCIMS, or other ATS/CRM platforms and curiosity around GenAI are a plus.
-
CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTATION: Highly responsive with strong interpersonal skills, consistently delivering results that reflect the firm’s culture and values.
-
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS: Exceptional ability to manage competing priorities across multiple active initiatives without losing accuracy or momentum.
-
PROFESSIONAL JUDGMENT: Highly professional and diplomatic, with the ability to handle sensitive candidate and stakeholder information with discretion.
-
FLEXIBILITY & ADAPTABILITY: Comfortable with shifting priorities and able to adjust quickly to different working styles in a hybrid environment.
-
SELF-MOTIVATION & INITIATIVE: A “can-do” attitude with an entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine desire to take on increasing responsibility.
DO THESE BEHAVIORS/MINDSET EXPECTATIONS RESONATE WITH YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE?
-
TEAM-ORIENTED: You contribute with a team-first mindset, understanding that your work directly impacts the candidate experience and the credibility of the team.
-
COLLABORATIVE: You build strong working relationships across time zones with search firm assistants, internal assistants, and senior stakeholders, adapting your style to get things done.
-
ORGANIZED UNDER PRESSURE: You can hold multiple active searches in your head simultaneously, context-switch without dropping the ball, and stay structured when intensity spikes.
-
DETAIL-ORIENTED: You catch the things others miss — a misspelled name, a mismatched time zone, a status that hasn’t been updated — because you know the details matter at this level.
-
PROACTIVE COMMUNICATOR: You don’t wait to be asked for an update — you keep your line manager looped in, come to them with issues and a proposed path forward, and make sure nothing important goes quiet.
-
EXECUTIVE PRESENCE & DISCRETION: You understand the weight of working with senior leaders and confidential information, and you’re committed to showing up with professionalism and good judgment — and growing into that standard every day.
-
COMPOSED & PROFESSIONAL: When the pace picks up, you don’t let it show in your work or your communications — you’re someone who’s actively building the muscle of staying steady under pressure.
-
HIGH STANDARDS: You hold yourself to a high bar, proactively drive work forward, and take ownership of your role in the broader process.
