Position Overview
The Loan Processor is the driving force behind the lending experience, transforming approved loan applications into successful funding and closing outcomes. This position serves as the operational hub between members, lending staff, title companies, insurance providers, attorneys, vendors, and internal departments.
From consumer loans and vehicle financing to mortgages, home equity loans, and real estate transactions, the Loan Processor ensures every loan is accurate, compliant, fully documented, and seamlessly executed. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for helping members navigate important financial decisions.

Key ResponsibilitiesConsumer & Real Estate Loan Processing
- Process consumer, vehicle, recreational, home equity, mortgage, and other collateralized loan products from approval through funding.
- Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Collect, verify, and organize required documentation including income verification, insurance, appraisals, title work, purchase agreements, tax documents, and collateral information.
- Prepare loan disclosures, closing packages, notes, mortgages, deeds of trust, security agreements, and ancillary loan documents.
- Coordinate loan closings with members.
- Review title commitments, title searches, lien reports, and collateral documentation to identify and resolve exceptions prior to funding.
- Ensure proper perfection of collateral through lien filings, mortgage recordings, and title work.
- Verify insurance coverage and monitor collateral protection requirements throughout the life of the loan.
Loan Funding & Servicing Support
- Fund approved loans and verify the accuracy of loan disbursements.
- Coordinate wires, cashier's checks, payoff requests, and external funding requirements.
- Process post-closing activities including modifications, extensions, deferments, corrections, refinances, and loan maintenance requests.
- Establish automatic payment arrangements, payroll deductions, and recurring transfer requests.
- Maintain accurate loan records within credit union systems and imaging platforms.
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure all loan files comply with federal and state regulations, investor guidelines, and credit union policies.
- Maintain compliance with regulations including TILA, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, MLA, Flood Requirements, and other applicable lending regulations.
- Conduct quality reviews of loan documentation prior to funding and after closing.
- Prepare loan files for audits, examinations, and internal quality reviews.
- Identify process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and member experience.
Member & Relationship Support
- Serve as a trusted resource for members throughout the lending process.
- Communicate loan status updates, documentation requirements, and next steps clearly and professionally.
- Resolve documentation issues and collaborate with lending staff to keep loans moving efficiently.
- Deliver exceptional service by creating a smooth and stress-free experience for members purchasing vehicles, homes, or other major assets.
- Support cross-departmental initiatives and operational projects that improve lending services and member satisfaction.
QualificationsEducation
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
Experience
- 2-5 years of loan processing, mortgage processing, loan servicing, title, escrow, or financial institution experience preferred.
- Credit union experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with both consumer and real estate lending documentation is highly desirable.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of consumer and real estate lending processes.
- Knowledge of mortgage documentation, title work, lien perfection, and insurance requirements.
- Familiarity with lending regulations and compliance standards.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in core processing systems, document imaging systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Pay: $18.21 - $22.79 per hour
