Tax Manager

A well-established boutique public accounting firm in Beverly Hills is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing team. The firm specializes in serving high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and a client base heavily concentrated in real estate.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong public accounting background who enjoys both technical tax work and mentoring others. The firm values professionals who can communicate effectively with clients and contribute to the development of junior staff through training and guidance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, and trusts
- Provide tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and small to mid-sized businesses
- Research and analyze federal and California tax issues
- Manage client relationships and communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters and planning opportunities
- Mentor, train, and develop junior staff members
- Teach tax concepts, procedures, and technical tax matters internally
- Collaborate with senior leadership on tax strategy, workflow management, and client service initiatives
- Stay current on tax law changes and industry developments
Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax experience within a public accounting firm
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and small businesses (not solely large C-corporation environments)
- Strong technical tax knowledge and analytical skills
- Proven experience training, mentoring, or teaching staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license highly preferred, but not required
- Exposure to real estate-related tax matters, including partnerships, depreciation, passive activity rules, 1031 exchanges, and real estate professional considerations
- Experience reviewing returns and supervising staff
