Line Cook
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and quality standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, works well under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies and ingredients.
- Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and timely service during all shifts.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to management.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
- Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste and control costs.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Comply with all health department regulations and company policies.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
· Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or similar kitchen position preferred.
· Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, listens, tastes and smells.
- Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms.
- Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
This position requires standing for long periods, working near hot surfaces and kitchen equipment, and performing repetitive tasks in a busy restaurant environment.
Certificates/Licenses:
· Food Handler Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preference:
- Basic ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
