We are a rapidly growing e-commerce company with a dynamic workforce consisting of corporate employees, warehouse operations, and a large seasonal workforce. As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced HR leader who can build processes, mitigate risk, and serve as a trusted business partner to executive leadership.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while building an HR function capable of supporting the next stage of the Company's growth. The successful candidate will have a clear path toward becoming the Head of Human Resources as the organization continues to expand.
Position Summary
The Senior Human Resources Manager will lead all Human Resources functions across the organization and serve as the Company's primary HR leader. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position is responsible for developing scalable HR processes while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
The role supports approximately:
- 25+ corporate employees, including remote team members
- 50+ warehouse employees across three shifts
- 50–200 seasonal temporary employees provided through a staffing agency
The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, balances employee advocacy with business needs, and proactively manages employment risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Leadership
- Lead all day-to-day Human Resources operations.
- Partner with executive leadership to support business growth and organizational development.
- Develop scalable HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Build an HR function that supports a rapidly growing business.
Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary resource for employee relations matters.
- Conduct workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and policy violations.
- Coach managers on performance management, documentation, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
- Partner with outside employment counsel on complex employment matters when necessary.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including:
- Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations and interactive process
- Workers' Compensation
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) coordination
- Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) responses
- Wage and hour compliance
- Immigration compliance and I-9 administration
- Unemployment claims
- Leave administration
- Employee documentation and record retention
Maintain compliance across multiple states as the company continues to expand.
Workforce Management
- Support HR operations for corporate, warehouse, and remote employees.
- Partner closely with staffing agencies managing a seasonal workforce of up to 200 temporary employees.
- Assist managers with attendance, performance, documentation, corrective action, and employee coaching.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage HR administration following candidate selection.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation.
- Support recruiting efforts and, when needed, manage full-cycle recruiting for select positions.
- Assist with workforce planning and succession planning initiatives.
Compensation & Payroll
- Support payroll administration and ensure employee information is accurate and timely.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking and market analyses.
- Assist with annual compensation planning and salary recommendations.
- Partner with Finance on workforce planning and compensation reporting.
HR Policies & Systems
- Maintain and continuously improve the employee handbook.
- Develop HR policies and standard operating procedures.
- Recommend improvements to HR systems and workflows.
- Maintain employee records and HR reporting.
- Experience with Gusto HRIS and payroll is a plus.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10–15+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
- Experience serving as the senior HR leader within an organization.
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state employment laws.
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employees.
- Experience supporting warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or e-commerce operations.
- Experience managing seasonal workforces and staffing agency relationships.
- Demonstrated experience with: FMLA, ADA accommodations, Workers' Compensation, OSHA coordination, EEOC matters, Wage and hour compliance, Harassment investigations, Employee relations, Immigration compliance and I-9 administration, Unemployment claims
- Excellent judgment handling confidential and sensitive employee matters.
- Strong communication, organization, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while partnering closely with executive leadership.
Preferred
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or comparable HR certification.
- Experience with Gusto HRIS and payroll.
- Experience supporting a rapidly scaling organization.
- Experience partnering with outside employment counsel.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and Microsoft Excel skills.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
