Lenoir City Utilities Board (LCUB), a municipal electric, water, wastewater, natural gas, and broadband utility located in the Tennessee Valley just thirty minutes from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains is seeking a Director of Finance & Administrative Operations to join our team. LCUB serves approximately 80,000 customers within parts of Loudon, Knox, Roane, and Anderson counties, and employs approximately 175 professionals while continuing to be one of the fastest growing utilities in the valley, placing it as the thirteenth largest utility with TVA.
The applicant must possess the required knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform all essential duties.
The Director of Finance & Administrative Operations directs the Finance and Customer Service Departments of LCUB, ensuring fiscal responsibility, compliance, strategic financial planning, and guaranteeing exceptional customer experience.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree or CPA (active or inactive) or well-defined path to certification with an estimated completion date is preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in finance/accounting; experience in Electric and multi-department utilities preferred, supervisory/leadership experience a plus.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, budget forecasting, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance; proficiency with accounting software and reporting systems.
- Intermediate-to-Advanced proficiency with Microsoft’s suite of cloud-based application systems (i.e. – Microsoft 365) and other application systems is highly desirable as well.
- Demonstrated experience in change management and developing a culture of innovation and collaboration among different work groups is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Central Service Association (CSA), or experience with larger ERP systems, such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, or SAP is preferred.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
