Certified Journeyman Electrician – Prevailing Wage Project (Gilroy, CA)Job Summary
JTE Electrical is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Journeyman Electrician to join our team for a prevailing wage project in Gilroy, CA. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in solar and electrical systems, with experience in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
A valid California Certified Journeyman Electrician Card is REQUIRED.
JTE Electrical is a traveling company. Candidates MUST be willing to travel throughout California and work away from home when project demands require it.
Only applicants with a valid California Certified Journeyman Electrician Card will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and solar environments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, and ohmmeters to perform electrical work efficiently.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions to ensure system functionality.
- Work on low-voltage systems as required while ensuring compliance with NEC standards.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project teams to complete projects safely and on schedule.
- Renovate and upgrade existing electrical installations to meet current codes and standards.
- Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Travel to project sites throughout California as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid California Certified Journeyman Electrician Card (Required)
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout California.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety regulations.
- Experience in solar, commercial, and industrial electrical work preferred.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
