A warehouse associate handles the logistics of receiving, storing, and shipping inventory. Key duties include stocking shelves, picking and packing orders, tracking stock using computerized scanners, operating heavy equipment like forklifts, and ensuring the facility remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
Core Responsibilities
- Receiving & Storing: Unload incoming shipments, verify packing lists, inspect items for damage, and store goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick products based on customer or work orders, package items securely, and prepare shipping labels.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, log inventory movements using warehouse management systems, and conduct routine cycle counts.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts to move materials.
- Safety & Upkeep: Maintain a clean work environment, adhere to OSHA standards, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Key Requirements
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and frequently lift or move heavy packages (typically 50 to 75 pounds).
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and experience using inventory tracking software or RF scanners.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is generally required.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team.
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
