Chemical Plant Operator – 2nd Shift
Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Reports To: 2nd Shift Foreman
Location: Blue Grass Chemical Specialties – New Albany, IN
About the Role
Blue Grass Chemical Specialties is growing, and we’re looking for a reliable, safety-focused, and motivated Chemical Plant Operator to join our 2nd shift production team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient manufacturing of our chemical products.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and adjust chemical processing equipment and machinery

Perform batch processing, blending, weighing, and loading/unloading of materials per SOPs

Accurately record, track, and interpret production data to ensure product quality

Follow all company, environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures

Maintain detailed logs, reports, and system documentation

Perform basic equipment checks and support routine maintenance activities

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support smooth operations
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Previous manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred (not required)

Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
Working Conditions

Exposure to chemicals, equipment, and varying temperatures

Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift

Proper PPE required and provided
