The Goddard School in Independence is hiring an Office & Classroom Support Specialist.
This is a unique position for someone who is organized, professional, dependable, and comfortable supporting both the front office and classrooms. The right person will assist with daily school operations, parent communication, phones, administrative tasks, and classroom support when needed.
This role requires someone who is flexible and willing to step into classrooms to help maintain ratios, support teachers, assist with transitions, and help train or guide staff when appropriate. This is not a desk-only position. It is a hands-on school support role.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the leadership team with daily school operations
- Answering phones and greeting families professionally
- Supporting parent communication and general office needs
- Helping with classroom coverage to maintain ratios
- Assisting teachers during transitions, breaks, busy times, or staffing needs
- Supporting classroom routines and supervision when needed
- Helping guide or train staff on classroom expectations and school procedures
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Assisting with organization, paperwork, and daily administrative tasks
- Following all Ohio childcare licensing requirements and school policies
The ideal candidate:
- Has experience in a licensed childcare center
- Understands classroom ratios, supervision, and childcare licensing expectations
- Is professional, calm, organized, and reliable
- Communicates well with families, teachers, and leadership
- Is comfortable moving between office responsibilities and classroom support
- Can help lead by example in classrooms
- Is flexible and willing to assist where needed
- Has strong judgment and a team-first attitude
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Licensed childcare experience is strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable working directly with children ages 6 weeks through Pre-K
- Must be able to meet all Ohio childcare licensing requirements
- Must be dependable and available Monday through Friday
- Must be willing to help in classrooms as needed
Pay: $16.00–$20.00 per hour, based on childcare experience, leadership ability, office skills, and classroom support experience.
