Our Restoration Department travels throughout the United States preserving, repairing, and restoring handcrafted log homes to the highest standards of quality.
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Restoration Crew Member to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys traveling, working outdoors, and taking pride in quality craftsmanship. You will work alongside an experienced crew restoring log homes while developing your skills in specialized restoration techniques.
This position requires extensive travel throughout the year. All work-related travel expenses, including flights, lodging, transportation, and meals, are provided by Meadowlark Log Homes.
The ideal candidate thrives in a physically demanding environment, works well as part of a team, and is committed to producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe jobsite.
Restoration Crew Duties & Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the Crew Lead daily to review project progress, priorities, and expectations.
- Complete assigned tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Look for training opportunities and continuously develop restoration skills.
- Perform and support all aspects of log home restoration, including, but not limited to:
- Staining
- Chinking
- Varnishing and finishing
- Log replacement and repairs
- Deck construction and repairs
- Stair construction and repairs
- Railing installation and repairs
- General log home maintenance and restoration
- Adhere to Meadowlark Log Homes quality standards at all times.
- Follow all Meadowlark Log Homes policies without exception.
- Conduct yourself in alignment with Meadowlark Log Homes' vision, mission, and values.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas on every jobsite.
- Properly maintain and care for assigned tools and equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.
- Maintain punctuality and reliability throughout each project.
- Actively participate in daily safety discussions and jobsite planning.
- Communicate equipment or maintenance needs to the Crew Lead promptly.
- Further a positive team environment built on respect, communication, and accountability.
Position Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Full-time commitment required.
- Must be willing to travel extensively throughout the year.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must possess a real ID or valid passport for air travel.
- Must be able to safely operate or learn to operate:
- Chainsaws
- Power tools
- Grinders and sanding equipment
- Paint and stain sprayers
- Ladders
- Scaffolding
- Man-lifts
- Loaders
- Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and work well within a team environment.
- Commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting (up to 80 lbs)
- Work from ladders and scaffolding.
- Work on roofs and elevated surfaces.
- Work in bent, kneeling, crouched, or confined positions for extended periods.
- Climb, carry materials, push, pull, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Safely use hand and power tools throughout the workday.
