Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher to lead a 4-year old classroom. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children in a nurturing environment, classroom management skills, and experience writing lesson plans and assessments. Our school operates on the Boerne ISD school calendar.
Responsibilities
- Write and implement age-appropriate lesson plans to develop safe and healthy habits, physical skills, self-esteem, creative expression, social skills, and overall development.
- Engage with children during activities, providing guidance and encouragement to foster their growth and development.
- Provide opportunities and support for children to develop self-discipline and regulation skills.
- Assess children and provide developmentally appropriate group and individual activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians; conduct parent conferences twice/year.
- Maintain confidentiality of children and family information.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements
- Child Development Associate Credential, or an AA or BA/BS in Child Development or Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed center.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
- Must be able to lift and comfort a young child (up to 40 lbs.) and get up and down from the floor; must be able to carry 25 lbs.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and support children with diverse needs.
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
- Relevant certifications or coursework in early childhood education is a plus.
