Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of dishes with precision, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish creation and ingredient selection
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food handling and preparation processes
- Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks, including chopping, cooking, plating, and garnishing
- Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and inventory management to minimize waste and maximize freshness
- Serve meals efficiently and courteously to guests or customers, ensuring a positive dining experience
- Demonstrate excellent knife skills and culinary techniques to enhance dish quality and presentation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Proven background in food industry roles such as restaurant cook, catering assistant, or kitchen staff
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation techniques
- Skilled in cooking methods suitable for diverse cuisines and fine dining environments
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
