Job Summary
Prolink is seeking a skilled Med-Surg/Tele Registered Travel Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry units, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert assessment, intervention, and education. The ideal candidate will possess a broad clinical skill set, including experience with EMR systems such as Epic and demonstrate proficiency in managing complex cases involving acute pain management, infection control, and chronic disease management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in diverse hospital settings, including Level 4 trauma centers and teaching hospitals, delivering high-quality care in fast-paced environments.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation.
- Administer medications via IV infusion, injections, and other routes while adhering to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patients' conditions using advanced equipment such as ventilators and cardiac monitors; respond promptly to changes.
- Perform specialized procedures including catheterization, phlebotomy, and tube feeding management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and coordination of care for complex cases involving trauma medicine or infectious disease care.
- Utilize EMR systems like Epic.
- Support patients with diverse needs such as geriatrics, behavioral health, memory care, hospice & palliative medicine, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Maintain infection control standards through proper specimen collection/processing and sterile processing procedures.
- Assist with laboratory testing, diagnostic evaluations (sonography or medical imaging), and specimen handling.
- Provide education on health coaching topics including nutrition, medication administration, or post-acute care instructions.
Experience
2 years PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care experience; traveler will be placed on a unit where the greatest need is whether it is a PCU or Med/Surg/Tele unit based on the traveler's skills; will accept a M/S or Stepdown RN - same credentialing for both skills, travel experience, EPIC.
