JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Systems Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing client-specific configurations within the Group Travel Odyssey (GTO) platform utilizing Quickbase. This role focuses on platform configuration, workflow refinement, issue resolution, and targeted system enhancements that improve operational efficiency and support client success. The Systems Engineer works under the direction of the Director of Development and ensures the platform remains stable, responsive, and aligned with organizational and customer requirements without requiring traditional software development.
Essential Functions
Technology Configuration and Administration
The Systems Engineer is responsible for configuring and maintaining Quickbase applications, tables, forms, relationships, permissions, and workflows. This role implements client-specific adjustments and operational improvements while ensuring consistency across the platform and adherence to development standards.
Client Support and Issue Resolution
The Systems Engineer investigates, diagnoses, and resolves platform issues reported by operators, customers, or internal departments. This role identifies root causes, implements corrective actions, and ensures issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner to minimize disruption to business operations.
Workflow Optimization
The Systems Engineer continuously evaluates existing workflows and identifies opportunities to improve usability, efficiency, and productivity. This role implements targeted enhancements that reduce manual effort, streamline processes, and improve the overall user experience within the GTO platform.
Platform Stability and Quality Control
The Systems Engineer ensures all system modifications are properly tested, validated, and documented prior to deployment. This role evaluates the impact of configuration changes and works to maintain platform reliability, data integrity, and operational continuity.
Development Team Support
The Systems Engineer supports the Director of Development by managing smaller enhancement requests, routine maintenance activities, and day-to-day platform modifications. This role enables larger development initiatives to proceed efficiently by addressing operational and client-facing configuration needs.
Documentation and Process Management
The Systems Engineer maintains clear and accurate documentation of platform configurations, workflow processes, system changes, and operational procedures. This role ensures documentation remains current and serves as a reliable resource for troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, and future enhancements.
Analysis and Continuous Improvement
The Systems Engineer analyzes platform performance, user feedback, and operational challenges to identify opportunities for improvement. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders to recommend enhancements that increase efficiency, improve user satisfaction, and support organizational objectives.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. The Systems Engineer works collaboratively with members of the Development team and supports cross-functional departments throughout the organization.
Work Environment
This is a remote position. Work is primarily performed from a home office utilizing computer systems, communication platforms, and collaboration tools. The role regularly interacts with internal team members, operators, customers, and stakeholders through virtual meetings, ticketing systems, and electronic communication.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing, operate a computer and standard office equipment, and participate in virtual meetings. The employee may occasionally be required to transport work-related materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Standard business hours are generally Monday through Friday; however, occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support system updates, issue resolution, testing activities, or business-critical initiatives. The employee must maintain sufficient availability to support operations during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Travel
Limited travel may be required for company meetings, training sessions, conferences, or other business-related activities.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working within Quickbase or a comparable low-code platform.
- Experience configuring forms, tables, relationships, permissions, workflows, and business processes.
- Experience troubleshooting platform issues and supporting end users.
- Strong understanding of relational data structures and workflow logic.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
