Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Sandblaster/Painter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces through abrasive blasting techniques and applying high-quality paint coatings to various industrial and commercial structures. Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces, ensuring proper adhesion of paint or coatings.
- Apply industrial, commercial, or residential paints using airless spray systems, brushes, or rollers with precision and consistency.
- Mix paints and coatings according to specifications, maintaining quality control throughout the process.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Perform surface preparation tasks such as sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer coats before painting.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely for surface repairs, fixture installation, or minor carpentry tasks related to painting projects.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of waste materials and ensuring equipment is well-maintained for optimal performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial sandblasting and painting within construction or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Skilled in handling hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, welding equipment, and masonry tools.
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces when necessary.
- Experience with renovation projects including restoration, remodeling, stucco application, masonry work, carpentry (including trim carpentry), plastering, caulking, fixture installation, concrete finishing, framing carpentry, and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read technical documents such as schematics and technical manuals related to industrial painting processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods while wearing safety gear; attention to detail is essential for quality results.
