We are a successful, customer-focused automotive dealership serving Chester County and the Main Line, and we're looking for an experienced Automotive Controller to lead our accounting department. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in automotive dealership accounting, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining the highest level of accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all dealership accounting operations and daily financial activities
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements in accordance with manufacturer and accounting guidelines
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team while promoting accountability and continuous improvement
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, schedules, and bank statements
- Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer requirements, and applicable accounting standards
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
- Partner with dealership leadership to provide financial analysis, budgeting support, and operational insights
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiencies, and support overall dealership profitability
Qualifications
- Previous Automotive Controller experience preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive automotive dealership accounting experience required
- Strong understanding of dealership financial statements, schedules, and accounting procedures
- Experience with dealership management systems such as Dealertrack, CDK Drive, or Reynolds & Reynolds is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
