Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out procedures with professionalism and efficiency
- Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as open dental, ensuring optimal patient flow
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing using systems like vyne or dental xchange
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations
- Answer multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and managing patient inquiries
- Assist with insurance verification, intake procedures, and updating patient information in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Support front desk operations including filing, data entry, and managing medical records to streamline office management processes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist within a clinical or dental office setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
- Familiarity and experience with open dental is not required but is a plus
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and office management software
- Ability to handle sensitive health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations with discretion and professionalism
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and care plan coordination
