Chaney Enterprises is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who can connect people strategy with the realities of a fast-paced, multi-site operation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys coaching managers, developing HR talent, solving complex employee issues, and using workforce data to make the business stronger.
You will lead a team of three HR Generalists while serving as a trusted advisor to regional leaders. Some days will involve helping a manager navigate a difficult employee situation; others may focus on reviewing workforce trends, evaluating compensation, strengthening compliance, or developing a more effective HR process. The common thread is turning HR expertise into practical solutions that work for both employees and the business.
-
Lead, coach, and develop three HR Generalists, establishing clear priorities, consistent practices, and strong service expectations.
-
Build trusted partnerships with regional and site leaders by understanding their operational goals, workforce challenges, and talent needs.
-
Coach managers through employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and organizational change.
-
Oversee FMLA and ADA accommodation processes, ensuring requests are handled consistently, compassionately, and in compliance with applicable requirements.
-
Use workforce metrics and HR data to identify trends, highlight risks, and recommend practical actions that improve retention, engagement, and productivity.
-
Develop, administer, and periodically audit regional compensation structures using market data, internal equity, and business needs.
-
Partner with Environmental Health and Safety on Workers’ Compensation, return-to-work efforts, and alignment between HR and safety processes.
-
Support the preparation of documentation and evidence for agency, commission, or court proceedings when necessary.
-
Partner with the broader HR team to develop training and resources that strengthen manager effectiveness and employee development.
-
Maintain accurate HRIS information and establish effective auditing practices across the assigned region.
-
Identify opportunities to simplify or improve HR processes and implement solutions that can scale with the organization.
-
Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and help leaders manage risk before issues escalate.
In this role, success means:
-
Your three HR Generalists are developing, working cohesively, and providing reliable support.
-
Leaders involve HR early because they value your judgment and trust your guidance.
-
Employee concerns are addressed promptly, fairly, and consistently.
-
HR decisions are supported by accurate data—not assumptions.
-
Compliance risks are identified and managed proactively.
-
HR processes become more consistent, practical, and effective across locations.
-
Employees experience HR as professional, responsive, and solutions-oriented.
-
Three to five years of progressive HR experience across multiple functional areas.
-
Experience providing guidance in employee relations, performance management, compliance, compensation, recruiting, and leave administration.
-
Demonstrated ability to lead others, delegate effectively, and manage competing priorities.
-
Sound judgment and the confidence to advise leaders through complex or sensitive situations.
-
Strong communication, negotiation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
-
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
-
Experience working with HRIS platforms and interpreting workforce data.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
-
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-
A high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
-
The ability and willingness to travel regionally based on operational needs.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-
PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
-
Active SHRM membership.
-
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
This is more than an HR support position. It is an opportunity to shape how HR operates in the field, develop the next level of HR talent, and help leaders build stronger, more effective teams. If you can balance empathy with accountability, strategy with execution, and employee advocacy with business judgment, we would like to hear from you.
