POSITION SUMMARY
A Marigold Catering Event Manager will plan and coordinate all aspects of catering while assuring the highest level of client service from start to finish in accordance to the Marigold standards and culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
● Completes event paperwork such as cost estimates, contracts, banquet event orders, floor plans, rental orders, staff roster requirements and more, based on client needs and best operational scenarios
● Works closely with other departments to provide solutions and service based on client needs
● Responsible for successfully managing event staff while onsite at events
● Responsible for interfacing and building relationships with other industry professionals such as entertainment, photography, floral, etc.
● Provides excellent customer service with the utmost professional integrity according to Marigold standards and culture
● Handles a high volume of work with little oversight
● Attends industry related events to network with peers
● Keeps current with industry trends
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field
● Three or more (3+) years of strong food/beverage sales, menu planning and event consulting or related experience
● Logistics experience with a catering company, hotel or other related/equivalent is required
● Proven success in negotiating and closing sales at the executive level
● A track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and targets over time
● A positive attitude with a passion for events and catering
● High detail orientation and excellent organizational skills
● Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task and adept at managing and prioritizing multiple clients and events in a fast-paced environment
● Excellent problem-solving capabilities
● Experience in account management and ability to generate and maintain strong, long-term client relationship
● Proficient computer knowledge, specifically Microsoft (Word, Excel) and Google products (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar, etc.)
● Experience with Caterease, Nowsta, Social Tables and other sales tools is a plus
● Night and weekend work will be required, with the ability for a flexible schedule when possible

The employee must occasionally lift, move, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently use a computer and other special operating equipment. Continual manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills is also required of this job.
