Lead reliability analysis of engineering designs and hardware, including facilitating Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) for system functions and performing basic reliability predictions.
Support the closed-loop Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) by collaborating with Test and Development teams to analyze Test Incident Reports (TIRs) and identify failure trends.
Conduct Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to assess risk, determine criticality, and prioritize mitigation efforts.
Perform Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses and contribute to the development of maintenance plans and maintenance philosophies.
Evaluate mission profile requirements defined by contract specifications and perform trade-off analyses to optimize maintenance strategies.
Analyze test and field data for failure trends; develop and coordinate Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) plans with internal Test & Development teams or external vendors.
Recommend Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) sensors and provide technical input for Built-In-Test (BIT) equipment design.
Interface with department managers, chief engineers, and cross-functional teams on R&M matters; represent the organization at Scoring Conferences and Corrective Action Review Team (CART) meetings.
Assist engineering teams in preparation for assessments and Scoring Conferences.
Propose design improvements to enhance maintainability and mitigate identified reliability issues.
Strong background in mathematical and statistical reliability modeling , including Weibull analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and reliability growth models.
Demonstrated experience in Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) engineering for complex systems, preferably within defense, aerospace, automotive, or heavy machinery environments.
Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics ; experience with complex vehicle or machinery systems is a plus.
Proficiency with data and analysis tools, including Microsoft Access , VBA coding , and database management.
Experience with PTC Windchill , Creo , and Windchill Quality Solutions (WQS) .
Familiarity with specialized reliability software such as WQS , ReliaSoft , RELEX , or similar tools (e.g., JAMES/MADE ).
Bonus qualifications include:
ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)
Knowledge of DoD acquisition and engineering processes , including MIL-STD-1629 (FMECA) and DoDI 5000.88
Experience supporting FRACAS and closed-loop corrective actions on government contracts
