Position Overview
We are seeking experienced and passionate coffee professionals to join our team for our new all-day cafe in Totowa, NJ. This role is ideal for those who thrive in high-volume environments, value consistency and craft, and genuinely enjoy creating positive guest experiences. Our cafe combines a modern aesthetic with a unique menu featuring Indian-influenced flavors and a sophisticated beverage program.
Key Responsibilities
- Hospitality: Greet and serve guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
- Technical Excellence: Prepare high-quality espresso beverages and seasonal specialty drinks to company standards.
- Quality Control: Dial in espresso and maintain coffee quality/extraction standards throughout the duration of the shift.
- Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace in compliance with NJ health and safety standards.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with team members to support daily operations during peak morning and mid-day rushes.
- Maintenance: Oversee proper care and cleaning of professional equipment
Qualifications & Skills
- Barista: Minimum 1 year of experience in coffee and barista work; a strong desire to train in specialty coffee is essential.
- Technical: Strong understanding of espresso extraction and milk texturing/latte art.
- Professionalism: Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
- Availability: Open and flexible availability, including mornings (starting at 6:30 AM) and weekends.
Schedule
- 10-hour operating window w/ part time and full time opportunities
- Weekend availability required
