JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team at Parchment Northwood Elementary as an Art educator. This full-time position requires an innovative and creative approach to teaching, fostering a love for the arts among students in a supportive and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore their artistic talents while developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills through various art forms.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum, alongside of our other art teacher, that aligns with educational standards and fosters creativity and self-expression.

Plan and conduct engaging art lessons for students at various grade levels, utilizing a variety of techniques, materials, and mediums.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.

Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them improve their artistic skills

Organize and display student artwork in school exhibitions and community events to showcase their talents.

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into other subject areas and promote interdisciplinary learning.

Maintain an organized and safe art classroom, ensuring all materials and equipment are properly stored and cared for.

Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and art-related events.

Stay updated on current trends in art education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.

Valid teaching certification or license in Art Education (LQ)

Previous teaching experience in an elementary school setting is preferred.

Strong knowledge of various art techniques, materials, and artistic movements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.

Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Proficiency in technology and digital tools related to art education is a plus.
