Join our dynamic team as a Deli Clerk/Cashier, serving as a friendly face and efficient operator behind our deli counter and cash register. All employees receive a free shift meal, along with earned sick time. Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance benefits.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve fresh deli items, including slicing meats, cheeses, and assembling sandwiches with precision and care
- Operate POS systems such as Toast POS to process retail sales transactions efficiently and accurately
- Manage customer orders with professionalism, upselling products to enhance sales and customer satisfaction
- Handle cash register operations, processing cash, credit card, and digital payments securely
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace in compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Restock deli products regularly to ensure freshness and availability for customers
- Assist customers with inquiries, provide product recommendations, and deliver excellent customer service at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants or cafes is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Strong skills in cash handling and processing transactions
- Knowledge of food safety management, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures is advantageous but can be taught during training
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Weekend shift availability
