Overview
Join our team as a Traffic Sign Technician and play a vital role manufacturing traffic signage for state contracts . In this position, you will be responsible for designing, preparing, and producing traffic signs to ensure clear communication and safety on roadways. Your work will directly contribute to the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and construction crews alike. We are looking for motivated individuals who thrive in creative environments and work well doing tedious hands on tasks and are eager to learn about the specifications and requirements that go into making federally regulated signage for general safety.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of materials for traffic sign production
- General knowledge of computers and use of programs like Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Use of hands on tools like razor knifes, heat guns, drills, and other power tools used in the production process of sign blanks and finished signs.
- Perform routine inspections of signage for accuracy, damage or errors.
- Counting inventory on materials used in the production of traffic signs.
- Ability and will to learn tedious tasks.
Skills
- Artistic or creative interest and experience not required for job, but useful for transfer of knowledge into useful skills in sign production
- General computer knowledge
- ability to safely use sharp knifes.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other smaller forked equipment
- Strong understanding of traffic sign standards and installation techniques, or be willing to learn these standards.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving
