American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Trauma unit position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

13-week contract

Inpatient acute care trauma and surgical unit (7 South)

Patient population includes trauma, orthopedic, and urology patients
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
-
Interdisciplinary team approach involving family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists
-
Floating to other units and hospitals is required
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required
-
EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
-
Active AL or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
-
No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
-
AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
-
Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with at least 18 months may be considered
-
At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
-
NURSYS verification required

Current driver's license required for consideration

Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Provides individualized acute care to trauma, surgical, orthopedic, and urology patients

Works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team model
-
Virtual orientation provided; no HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during orientation

Cardiac exam required after offer acceptance

Solid navy scrubs required
